Collaboration between disability-led organisations
A successful engagement was held with various disability-led organizations and key stakeholders, spearheaded by the Malawi Human Rights Commission. The meeting focused on the dissemination of Access to Information (ATI) laws and relevant policies, ensuring that persons with disabilities are not only informed but meaningfully included in decision-making processes.
The session provided an important platform for dialogue on how access to public information intersects with disability rights, transparency, and accountability. Participants explored ways to make legal and policy documents more accessible—through inclusive formats such as braille, sign language interpretation, and simplified language versions.
By bringing together voices from across the disability movement, the meeting reinforced the collective commitment to inclusive governance and the full realization of the right to information for all Malawians.
This collaboration marked a key step in advancing inclusive policy implementation and ensuring no one is left behind in the pursuit of human rights and justice.
