Monitoring Visit Highlights: Economic Empowerment in Action!
WAG Disability Rights recently visited Initiative sites in Kauma, Area 23 and Dowa under the Advancing Human Rights, Economic Justice and Social Inclusion of Women and Girls with Disabilities initiative supported by IM Swedish Development Partner Southern Africa.
In Kauma and Area 23, women and girls with disabilities are harvesting and selling vegetables from their backyard gardens improving food security and generating income. Poultry kraals are also being constructed by the Rights holders as contributions from their VSL ahead of chicken distribution.
In Dowa, the goat pass-on scheme is thriving with healthy goats and some expectant. Once offspring are born they will be passed on to other right holders, ensuring the impact continues to grow.
We are proud of these women and girls and grateful to our partners for making this possible!
