Stella Nkhonya founded WAG Disability Rights in 2015, drawing on her own experience as a woman with a disability in Malawi. Under her leadership, WAG has grown from a small grassroots coalition into a nationally recognised NGO — with programmes reaching thousands of women and girls with disabilities across the country.

From SRHR advocacy and GBV prevention to economic empowerment, WAG's work is rooted in the real lives of the women it serves. To deliver it, Stella has built a team that combines professional skill with personal commitment — spanning project coordination, finance, monitoring and evaluation, and community outreach.
