Gender Transformative Curriculum Part B has successfully started in TA Kabudula and TA Kalolo under the Pamodzi Kuthetsa Nkhanza Project.
The training is targeting all key service providers of VAWG and on this particular week, From 8th to 12th June, the main focus was Social Welfare service providers. The sessions are Built on Part A which was conducted last year. The training focused on strengthening the capacity of service providers to deliver safe, inclusive, survivor-centred and coordinated VAWG response services.
Key areas covered included Psychological First Aid (PFA), survivor-centred VAWG response, duties of Social Welfare Officers and Health Service Providers towards survivors of VAWG, self and collective care, barriers to help-seeking, risk assessment and safety planning, disability inclusion in IPV response, the National GBV Referral Pathways, safe and effective referrals, and survivor-centred mediation.
This training is an important step in strengthening local response systems and ensuring that survivors, including women and girls with disabilities, can access timely, confidential, dignified and inclusive support.
